Sheikh Saleem Dhorat Sahib حفظه الله has advised we inculcate the habit to reflect upon the bounties of Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله. In reality, it is a short and simple action and it can be implemented easily by everyone – men, women, teachers, students, old, young, healthy and sick.
The prescription is that we set aside a time for this everyday. It can become the basis for a close friendship with Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله. If we cannot spend much time, start with three minutes.
As an example, think about the bounty of the eyes and say to yourself in your heart; “O Allah! You blessed me with eyes. Had you not given these eyes to me, I would not have been able to read the Kalaamullah (the Holy Qur’ān). I would not have been able to see my parents and children. I don’t know how many errors I would have committed. This is such a great favour of Yours. O Allah! All praises and thanks are due to You alone.”
Hazrat Moulana حفظه الله has stated that we need to make it a point of setting aside a time daily and think of the favours of Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله. In this way, we will gradually develop a love for Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله and our love for Him will increase. Once our hearts are infused with the love of Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله, we will find no difficulty in carrying out any of His orders.
