Funeral Process

Documents Required

Please Note a medical certificate stating the cause of death has been issued, without the paper we will not be able arrange the burial. Once the cause of death certificate has been issued, then the death needs to be registered and the registrar of the district the deceased died will issue a burial certificate (also referred to as Green form). It is the family’s responsibility to obtain this document.

In some instances, the hospital may release the body without burial certificate, but the family have to request a body release form.

Its only then we will arrange to for the body to be collected and taken for ghusl.

Preparation for the Funeral

We recommend up to 4 members (no more than 6) of the family be present to help for the washing of the deceased.

We will help with washing and shrouding of the deceased and then arrange for the deceased to be taken to the graveyard for burial.

The Salatul Janazah if being performed in the masjid, will be led by the Imams of the masjid only.

If the family requests the Salatul Janazah be performed in the cemetery, this may depend on the availability of the Imams.
