***Announcement For the Beginning of Ramadhan 1431AH ***
The weather in the UK was such that despite efforts, even through observatories, the hilal was not seen. Despite clear
atmospheric conditions in South Africa and large groups making the effort to sight the Hilal, the Hilal was not sighted
in South Africa. Countries like Morocco and Reunion have just completed their 28th day of Sha'baan and will be sighting their Hilal tomorrow (11/08/2010) after Maghrib. Due to the fact that we have not received any news of actual sighting (Muhaqqaq
Ru'yat e Basari) the Wifaq ul Ulama hereby declares that there will be 30 days for the month of Sha'baan. First Taraweeh will
be on Wednesday the 11th of August and the first fast will be on Thursday the 12th of August InshaAllah.

Unfortunately Saudi Arabia has declared the first day of Ramadhan on Wednesday the 11th of August according to their Umm
ul Qura Calendar.
