IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING MOON SIGHTING

Following the recent seminars regarding moon sighting attended by many Imams, Ulama & Trustees and having listened to and witnessed the evidence of this vast, detailed research carried out by senior Ulama in this subject, we have concluded that this research is the correct method in accordance with the principles laid down by our Holy Shariah.
.
Our Nabi (S A W) has instructed us to Fast when the moon is sighted and celebrate Eid when the moon is sighted

The Evidence presented by Ulama in this field is “the Saudi authorities are accepting the testimonies even though the Crescent (Moon) is not on the horizon. Many times the announcement of the sighting the moon is before or just after the Birth of the Moon, which is scientifically impossible. The scientific data available to us states that the moon can only be seen approximately 18 hours after its birth (the world record (unconfirmed) for the sighting of crescent moon is 12 hours 7 min on 21 January 1906) and only if the conditions are right.

After further consultations, we at Masjid-E-Umer are henceforth going to follow “MOON RESEARCH CENTRE UK ” who have adopted the formula acceptable by our Ulama.

Further information can be found at www.wifaqululama.co.uk as well as the Masjids' notice board, and the Moonsighting menu above.

QARZ-E-HASNA APPEAL

Alhamdulillah our new Masjid has been built and Musallees are using it to pray their salaat. However, the Masjid still has a debt of £200,000 to repay to those Brothers and Sisters that donated Qarz-E-Hasna (Interest Free Loan). Please donate generously so that this debt on our beloved Masjid can be repaid as soon as possible. We require Brothers and Sisters to donate Lillah of £300 each (which equates to £25 per month for 12 months), in order for us to repay this debt. If you wish to participate, please make your online donation below or contact the Masjid with your details. REMEMBER you can also encourage others too, so PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD amongst your families, friends, work colleagues etc, so that we can achieve our goal.Click here to visit our secure online donations page to make your donation now.

Jazakallah
